  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar until pale and creamy.
  2. Fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form and gently fold into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. Combine the coffee and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
  5. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and layer them in a serving dish.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  9. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.

Notes

  • For a stronger coffee flavor, use espresso instead of brewed coffee.
  • Allow the tiramisu to set overnight for the best texture.
