Skillet Chicken and Orzo

A delicious and easy one-pan dish featuring juicy chicken and flavorful orzo.

  • 1 pound chicken breasts
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add chicken to the skillet, cooking until browned and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side.
  4. Remove chicken and set aside.
  5. Add orzo to the skillet and toast for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  7. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer until orzo is cooked, about 10-12 minutes.
  8. Stir in Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.
  9. Slice the chicken and place on top of the orzo before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add vegetables such as spinach or bell peppers.
  • Make sure not to overcook the chicken to keep it juicy.
