1 block firm tofu
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ginger powder
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Press tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.
Cut tofu into cubes and toss with cornstarch.
Spread tofu on a baking sheet and drizzle with vegetable oil. Bake for 25-30 minutes until crispy.
In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, sugar, garlic powder, ginger powder, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Toss the baked tofu in the sauce and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
Notes
For extra crispiness, try frying the tofu instead of baking.
Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
