Cheddar Cheese Grits Casserole

  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring the water to a boil, then add the grits and salt. Stir and reduce the heat to low.
  3. Cook until thickened, stirring frequently, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in butter, cheese, milk, and garlic powder.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs.
  6. Slowly add the egg mixture to the grits, mixing well.
  7. Pour the grits mixture into a greased baking dish.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until set and golden.
