Broccoli Cheese Pasta

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions.
  2. In the last 3 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli to the pasta.
  3. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then remove and crumble.
  4. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, add flour, and whisk for 1 minute.
  5. Slowly add milk, stirring continuously until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat, stir in the cheese until melted, then mix in the bacon.
  7. Combine the cheese sauce with the pasta and broccoli, and season with salt and pepper.

Notes

  • This dish can be made vegetarian by omitting the turkey bacon.
  • Feel free to add more vegetables like bell peppers or carrots.
